An investigation has been opened by RCMP after what's being called a suspicious death in the community.
Police were called to a residence on Monday to perform a wellness check on someone. When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man deceased.
The death was determined to be suspicious and the RCMP's Major Crimes Unit has now taken over the investigation. A release from police on Tuesday noted that people in the community should expect to see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.
There was no immediate word about whether the NWT Coroner Service would be involved in the investigation.
