A 40-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following a reported stabbing near Sunridge Apartments in Yellowknife on Oct. 4. 

After the RCMP responded and confirmed that a person had been assaulted with a weapon, they allege that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. She was located a short time later. She was arrested and is now charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and obstructing a peace officer.

She appeared before a justice of the peace and was subsequently released to appear in court on Oct. 29 in Yellowknife. Her identity was not disclosed in the RCMP's Oct. 8 news release.
